The blueprints are drawn and the floors have been picked out. The time has come to remodel your Naples home. However, be careful, the value of your house might be lowered by one mistake.

Over expanding must be avoided. Your home may be the nicest on the block, but when it comes time, it will be more difficult to sell. Also, don't try to make your house something it is not. Leave kitchens as kitchens and bathrooms as bathrooms.

You should not alter the overall style or architectural design. A remodel is a big cost, be sure to sufficiently budget. Time and money is usually under budgeted by 20-30 percent. Unless you're a pro, hire someone to do the job.

Make sure you keep up on all maintenance. Keep the exterior painted, the shrubs trimmed, and the windows clean. Following these guidelines means that the remodel of your Naples home will be a success.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) introduced brand new remodel regulations, which might affect older Naples homes . The EPA calls for lead training, certification, and safe work practice requirements for contractors involved in remodels on houses built before 1987. By the year 2010, they hope to to eliminate the public health concern of lead poisoning.

Lead was used for several years in paint and is a remarkably harmful metal. It can cause a slew of health problems and children under the age of six are more at risk since their nervous systems are not yet entirely developed.
