Any piece of Naples real estate can be affected by mold. While most are certain that heat and humidity are fundamental indicators of mold development, a recent investigation found that building quality might be one of the main factors.

The buildings of today are built to adhere to tight energy regulations. When it's scorching outside, the trapped moisture has nowhere to go, creating the greenhouse effect. In order to maintain the mold infestation, it helps to get regular roof, drainage, and structure inspections.

It is much more costly to repair a major mold problem than it is to get yearly inspections. A mold problem could collapse the deal when the time comes to list your Naples home .

The white picket fences enclosing several Naples homes are getting a new twist. Privacy, as well as security, are increased by a gated fence. A remote controlled gate can be installed at the end of a driveway or added onto an existing wall or fence. A computer program, hand-held gaget, or even a BlackBerry or Treo can activate the gate.

These models are definitely not cheap. A Do-it-yourself model may be purchased for about $1,200 and a professional, more intricate system will run anywhere from $18,000 to 130,000. Some feel that these gates are proof of the jump in fear and distress in Americans. Several others feel that they are simply the best method of privacy. Either way, business is booming, cited by those selling fences.

Some Naples home owners are living off the earth. Farm living has increased at the rate of 2 percent a year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service. A lot of owners are not interested in farming for a profit.

Because farming involves a lot of work, it is not for everybody. The isolation factor is another reason why people stay away from living on a farm. Nevertheless, if you love open space and are looking for a challenge, life on a farm just might be for you.

Several buildings throughout the country are literally going green. Green roofs are being installed in Chicago, and maybe one day in Naples. Renewable materials or solar panels are not what these types of roofs are constructed from. From daisies to tomatos, here you will be able to plant everything.

Potted plants have adorned rooftops for years but this new way of roofing, complete with an one-of-a-kind drainage system, enables plants to actually root. Green roofing allows for a lot of benefits. Above all, the greenhouse effect is narrowed as cooling needs are decreased by more than 25 percent. Plants will absorb the heat radiated from concrete and blacktop.

A rooftop conservatory is more visually pleasing than a flat, black roof. With a green roof, you have a chance to stop and smell the roses, whether you grow grass, flowers, or brush. Keep an eye out for Naples homes going green. For now, green roofing can only be found in the big city.

Toys that come with cords are being purchased by more and more folks. Cell phones, computers, and iPods come with a slew of unsightly cords, but are necessary in just about every Naples home . A lot of companies are now creating furniture with intergrated power strips, USB ports, and phone and Internet jacks. From end tables to desks to coffee tables, power sources can be hidden anywhere.

One of the challenges that come with bringing power to nightstands and coffee tables is abstaining from spills. We're trained to keep liquids away from the keyboard, but can we keep them away from the coffee table? We will need to proceed with caution until cell phones and laptops are made water resistant. This style of furniture is considered a luxury, but could soon become the norm.

Applications for Naples home mortgages rose 2 percent in mid-September, according to Reuters. Applications are at their peak level since last April. This increase was a result of two main factors.

The first is a drop in interest rates by the Federal Reserve. With a lower interest rate, more homeowners are urged to refinance. The second component is the excess of homes on the market. Prices are driven down with a surplus of homes.

In your Naples home , the proper lighting can make all the difference in the world. Lighting can illuminate an entire room, spotlight a particular architectural piece, or just change the mood of a room. When installing new lights, there are many details to take into consideration. Make sure you use a standard style. An older home will certainly look better with a period crystal chandelier than with bright tract lighting. Keep in mind, different lighting will achieve various things. By adding lights under cabinets, you will accentuate a granite countertop.

Make sure you take a look at every room at night, without any natural light, to get an idea for the kind of lighting that fits the best. A great way to add a romantic, elegant, touch to any wall is by adding a sconce. Always cover the bulb, nothing is more unsightly than a bare light bulb. Every light ought to have an individual switch and don't forget about a dimmer. By keeping these handy tips in mind, your Naples home will be magnificently lit.

The fight over cell phone towers close to Naples homes is often inconsistent. The majority want fewer dropped calls with better cell phone coverage. However, a lot of communities don't want cell towers in their neighborhoods. Towers could diminish property value and are very unattractive. For a cell tower to function correctly, it must be visible. This means an ugly, bulky piece of steel will be put in higher than the tree line. This is fine for a downtown setting, but doesn't fit well into a community layout.

To remedy this, companies began putting towers in that resemble trees. Although, a steel tree hardly fools anyone. When deliberating towers with communities, cell phone companies should be sensitive and open. Naples households must remember that it is possible to win a battle against cell phone companies. Both sides could get what they want when they approach the situation with a team mind set.

Mold can put a damper on any piece of Naples real estate . According to a recent study, mold growth is largely a result of building quality, not weather and humidity.

Strict energy guidelines control the construction of today's buildings. When moisture is trapped inside the walls of a building, the greenhouse effect is created. It helps to get regular roof, drainage, and structure inspections to maintain mold infestations.

Prices may add up, but ultimately, it will be cheaper than fixing a sizeable mold problem. A mold problem might collapse the deal when it comes time to list your Naples home .
