The freedom of being self-sufficient is worth so much, even though money might be tight. Several young homeowners claim that instead of paying rent to somebody else, they would rather be paying a mortgage. At 25, a Naples real estate is worth so much, even if a credit card is used to finance a leaky roof or new driveway.

Older Naples homes might be impacted by new remodel restrictions generated by the Environmental Protection Agency. When modifying homes built before 1978, the EPA calls for lead training, certification, and safe work practice specifications for contractors involved in such ventures. They hope to to clear the public health uneasiness of lead poisoning by the year 2010.

Lead has been used in paint for so many years and is a remarkably abrasive metal. It can set off a slew of health issues and kids under the age of six are most at risk since their nervous systems are not yet fully developed. In the Naples condo market, buyers are experiencing a bit of competition. There are a few things you can do to set your condo above the others and ensure a quicker sale. First and foremost, make sure the price is right. Price your condo based on the local market and nearby neighborhood. Invite multiple brokers over for a "open house." The more brokers you have, the exposure you will get.

For every possible buyer, create an individual "resource list." Families are often looking for nearby schools or parks while empty nesters are attracted to fine dining or museums. Make the kitchen and bathroom a point of interest. Putting money towards enhancements here will pay off big. Last but not least, offer incentives such as a few months free cable or grocery store gift card.

You could have relinquished your desire to become a Hollywood star, but don't give up on your Naples home just yet. Film or TV shoots have caused some owners to turn over their home for days, even weeks. For the use of the ideal home, production companies are prepared to shell out big money.

The glamour and money is more than worth it for some. Others become troubled at the thought of having a handyman enter their home. A hundred crewmembers are too much, even for fame. Still, it will be fun to see your Naples home on the silver screen.

When the time comes to sell your Naples home , you shouldn't panic just because the market is balancing out. Approaching the situation with the right knowledge is all you need to do.

Setting the right asking price is the best place to begin. It is smart to list your property at or below the competitive market prices. Because of competitive bidding, a lower price will generate a greater amount of interest and you should finish with much more money. You have a higher chance of selling your house now, instead of months from now, by providing buyer incentives. With so many other homes for sale, you can set your property above everybody else.

Finally, make sure both the outside as well as the inside are spic and span. An unsightly home simply won't sell considering that looks are everything. Your Naples home has a better chance of selling in a timely manner by sticking to these clear cut tips.

Does your Naples home need an additional bedroom? Sleeping quarters, put in outdoors, might be a good option. Homeowners are investing more money on outdoor "rooms," from kitchens to day beds to side tables To make sure water and mildew keep out of your bed, these rooms are set up with aluminum platforms, mosquito nets, nylon, and woven PVC.

These beds come ready-made and vary from extragagant models by Armani/Casa's Oceano, to the more economical versions, available at Home Depot or Lowe's. A canopied daybed in the backyard will certainly be a wonderful place to kick back and take a nap, even though several climates don't permit sleeping outside.

There are a couple of things that may affect the sale of your Naples home . Fleas, termites, and bugs should not be the deal breaker. Before you even put your home on the market, bring in an exterminator. Make sure all traces of pests are gone before a possible buyer even comes into your house.

If you own animals, make sure fleas won't be problematic by taking preventative steps. Give your pet's flea medication and use a fogger to kill any remaining fleas. If possible, keep Fido outside until your home is sold. Completing these steps now is going to save time and money down the road.

Many areas are turning to the past for downtown design. Ancient cities were designed with a roads system, public and private buildings, a theater, and an amphitheater, in a rectangular block.

Developers, and individuals involved in Naples real estate , will need to keep in mind that many design aspects are timeless and shouldn't be forgotten. The top concern for new developments is environmental issues. Similar to the ancient developments, contemporary developers are building around trees, drainage corridors, and mountain ranges, as opposed to obliterating them.

Agendas also involve easy "walkability," meaning eighty-percent of development must be within five minutes of 80 percent of all activities. Perhaps the most significant tie to ancient civilization is the fact that advancement relies less on the house and a good deal more on the community.

Along with heat waves come rolling blackouts. There isn't any way to tell how long a blackout will last and they can occur at anytime. If your Naples home is without power, it's so important to be ready.

Call your local utility company for blackout details. Oftentimes, blackouts are planned dependent upon geographic areas. Plan on going somewhere with power if you know that a blackout is coming. Going to the movies, a shopping mall, the home of a friend, or even on a vacation are all practical options when your home is without power.

Plan ahead with extra food and plenty of water throughout the sweltering summer months. Store extra ice in the freezer and leave the refrigerator door shut. Food and water for your animals must not be forgotten. Make sure you have extra batteries, medical materials, and other personal items. Remember that cell phone networks get bogged in emergencies and your phone battery could die.

Above all, keep an eye on children and the elderly, who are the most susceptible to heat. Heat waves aren't going anywhere, mostly because of the earth's climbing temperatures, based on climate projections. Start preparing for a heat wave today.

Interior decorating has gone to dark from light. A lot of Naples homeowners would rather see shades of black, brown, and grey instead of pale woods. From floors to faucets, several things are taking on a darker shade. To so many, these darker colors produce a comforting ambiance and balance the stresses of daily life.

Like any trend, dark decor may one day seem dated. The pink bathtubs from the 60s and green shag of the 70s certainly date a room. Although, your Naples home will be converted from ordinary to warm and cozy, if done correctly.

There is a brand new trend in buying Naples real estate . Young singles, more specifically women, account for the majority of new homeowners. In fact, there has been a 6 percent increase in female homeowners between 2001 and 2005.

Affordability, a closeness to entertainment and nightlife, and safe neighborhoods are what most young singles are looking for. Even more of the buying market consists of recent immigrants and minorities. Some are buying condos to build equity so that they can purchase a larger home down the road. Finally, retirees and empty-nesters are downsizing and moving to active adult communities. They are through with big houses and would rather live in smaller homes, near friends and entertainment.

You can add value to your Naples home by renovating your kitchen or deck. Although, some upgrades could actually end up costing you when the time comes to resell.

In hot, dry areas, putting in a swimming pool is an essential. In cold regions, the idea of upkeep is enough to turn buyers away. Families with young children might not want to buy a house with a pool. The new room you added on is great for a game room, but you might not have considered how it looks from the outside. A poorly planned addition, one that doesn't fit the rest of the house, will not sell.

When following design fads, be careful. Just like orange carpet, above counter sinks and bamboo floors will date a home. When personalizing your Naples home, be smart and think ahead.

A whole space can be brightened, a particular architectural piece will stand out, or the mood of a room can be altered by lighting. There are a few details to keep in mind when putting in new lights. Be sure to use a consistent style. An older house will probably look better with a period crystal chandelier than with radiant tract lighting. Remember, different lighting can produce various things. To get a feel for the kind of lighting you are going to need, view each room at night, without any natural light. A sconce is a wonderful way to add a romantic, elegant, touch to any wall. Always cover the bulb, nothing is more unattractive than an exposed bulb. Finally, install individual switches for each light and don't forget the dimmers.
