Falling victim to identity theft will hurt your chances of completing a Naples real estate transaction. As Congress investigates email phishing scams, they might create initiatives to battle identity theft.

When a person or group pretends to be a legitimate company, such as Ebay or a large bank, and acquires sensitive information deceptively, they are engaging in phishing. Noticing email that sounds unusual is very important. If in doubt, report any email that you think is a scam.
